Our kids are performing in this summer's children production..."Rapunzel--Untangled, and it's free for anyone!

The “Me + Three” Program
This is a very thrilling and pivotal time in our nation’s history, and we are elated to have a
strong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints running for U.S. Senate.
President Gordon B. Hinckley has declared: "It is imperative that good people, men and women
of principle, be involved in the political process — otherwise we abdicate power to those whose
designs are almost entirely selfish." (Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley, p. 456) Helping men and
women of strong moral values become elected should be as close to importance as any church
calling, as they help shape the direction this nation is heading. The only way to get America
headed in the right direction is to make certain we elect officials who reflect our values.
The “Me + Three for Jon Barrie” in the Jon Barrie for Senate campaign, is a way of reaching out
to our friends and neighbors and voting together. This is an easy way to show your patriotism,
help others do their civic duty, and help America grow stronger. Simply, on November 6, go to
the election polls with 3 or more people and vote. You can get more information regarding Jon
Barrie on his website: www.jon4senate.com
Please forward this to your friends and family.
Thanks,
Melanie H. (Ventana Ward)

Vices
Sisters, I find that I need to share with you one of my vices. I haven't done this in a long time, but this morning the ward emailed out that list of missionary scriptures, one a day for the month of August, and I just couldn't help myself. You see, I love fonts. Really love them. And so I made printables of each of those scriptures. There's no rhyme or reason to which fonts I chose (though I tried to stay away from script fonts that beginning readers would have trouble with). And the border is as plain jane as it gets. But as long as I spent my entire morning on this I figure I should share it with you. I've uploaded both the pdf version and the Word version (in case some of the fonts don't work or you want to do something different. At least you won't have to do all that copy/pasting.). I uploaded them to Google Docs, and the links above will take you to them.

Roasting Sticks
We are just about there for girls camp this week, but I have yet to come across any inexpensive hot dog roasting sticks. Everything that is in the stores are a little, a lot out of our budget. I thought I would ask here before I really spend more money...is there anyone in the area who has some hot dog roasting sticks they wouldn't mind letting us borrow for our girls camp? We are lucky enough to have fires up at camp this year, and sadly, no roasting sticks to go with them! If you have any OR know of a place that I can get them for super cheap, please let me know! Thanks a bunch!!

Ventana Ward BBQ and School Supply Drive
Please join us (ward members and friends...everyone is invited!) this Saturday at 5-7pm for a bbq and school supply drive at our church building in Ventana Ranch. We will have lots of yummy food. Come mingle with friends and meet new ones! The school supply items that are needed the most are: glue sticks, dry erase markers, colored pencils, pencils, regular markers, clorox wipes and kleenex and copy paper.
We still are in great need of people to bring a few items (sorry, but the two and three people that signed up to bring a green salad and fruit salad are not going to bring enough to feed all of us). Please let us know if you have a canopy cover we can use for shade. We need green salads and fruit salads, or just cut up fruit. We are looking forward to this fun event, and also for the chance to provide our local schools with necessary items. Please email me at carriejelmore(at)gmail.com to let me know if you can bring any of the food items...or/and a canopy!
Thanks!

Shelf Reliance Food Storage Girls Night!
Everyone and anyone interested is invited to my Shelf Reliance Food Storage Girl's Night! (Husbands can come, too, but they will most likely be outnumbered). It is a Fiesta theme, so we will have Mexican food and get to sample all sorts of yummy foods! I am super excited about this because I have been procrastinating gathering a food storage for so long, mainly because I have no where to store it (as a lot cannot be stored in the garage where extreme temperatures exist). But this stuff is 'the bomb!' You can store it anywhere, for up to 25 years! It is jam packed with flavor. I have been building my food storage and snacking on it for 2 months now, and my family loves it. So if you want to learn more, or you just want to get out of the house and have some yummy food and relaxation...come to my home this Wednesday on June 25th at 7pm. I won't post the flyer because of the personal information, but if you don't know my address and you are interested, shoot me an email at carriejelmore(at)gmail(dot)com. I am trying to get a head count so let me know if you can come, and if you bring a friend you will be entered in a drawing for prizes!

Book Club - Thursday!
Hi Ladies,
This is your friendly reminder that we will hold book club THIS Thursday, July 19th at 7pm in Melissa S's back yard.
We will be having "de-ja-vu from sophomore honors English class" as we discuss The Chosen by Chaim Potok. I'm pretty sure I'm getting more out of it re-reading it as an adult. Hope you are too!
Please bring your lovely selves and something delicious from your kitchens :)
Happy Summer Reading!

Music Class for Kids
I am posting this for a friend. She lives in Rio Rancho is a great lady!
I am starting an intro to music class for kids ages 4-6. We'll learn and explore rhythms, sounds, music and piano. It will be in the day time while older siblings are at school. It will be like a play group once a week for an hour, full of music and fun activities. There will be 3 sessions lasting 10 weeks each. (Levels 1, 2 & 3) At the end of the 30 weeks of lesson, each child will be ready to begin private piano instruction. It will be a small group of children (no more than 4-5) in a classroom atmosphere. The cost will be $15 each class ($60/month). The first 10 week session will begin when school begins.
If you would please pass this along to anyone you know who might be interested in something like this I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!! Kristine

Free stuff
I love free. You could say I am addicted to it. And this week starts all the really cheap school supplies so if you see me leaving stores with a smile on my face, you'll know why. This week I have found a few free things that make me happy.
7-11
On 7-11(Wednesday) get a free Slurpee from 11-7. Our closest 7-11's are on Taylor ranch road and in Rio Rancho on Southern. I have not called to see if they are participating. I am assuming they are.
Chick-fil-a
Free Chick-Fil-A on Friday if you dress up like a cow.
Go here to check it out.
Yes, I'll be dressed like a cow and proud of it. It would been more believable a few months ago before Max was born, but oh well.
Last, Michaels is having another summer passport program where your kids can go in and make cool crafts. Go here to see the calendar for July. Some of the projects are free and some you buy a part of the project, they are usually just a dollar or two.
Now go get some free stuff!!!!

accepting new preschoolers
We've got 2 (maybe 3) openings for preschoolers in our co-op next year if any of you moms out there are willing to teach for 2 days once every 6-7 weeks. Your child MUST be turning 5 by September 1st, 2013, no exceptions. We have 2 girls and 2 boys already in our group that fit this criteria. Email me and let me know if you're interested in discussing what we're planning.

Preschool Teacher?
Due to some recent news we received, I am not going to be able to teach preschool this next year. I am wondering if anyone is willing or able to teach next year. I have a lot of the curriculum planned and would let you have it. I have a 4 year old class that meets Tuesday and Thursday and a 3 year old class that meets Monday and Wednesday from 9-12. Please let me know A.S.A.P. if you are interested in teaching!
