Pass of all Passes

I know there are a lot of us that travel to Utah to visit family.  Today on citydeals.com there is a voucher for only $10 a person that gets you into Seven Peaks, Trafalga and many other places for unlimited visits for 1 year.  If you only took your family to one of them, it would totally pay for itself.  I don't know how long this deal will last, so hurry fast!

want to ski at Taos next weekend?

Hey all,
I know this is a long shot and very late, but we picked up 4 vouchers for the Taos Ski Resort at the Sport Systems ski event last fall that we haven't used yet.  There are 2 vouchers for child lift tickets, and 2 vouchers for a $37 adult full day lift ticket (I assume this means you pay $37 for a ticket instead of full price.)

Anyway, we kept thinking we would use them and get away for the weekend, but it hasn't worked out.  Taos is open until Easter Sunday, so there is one weekend left!

If anyone wants to do one last spring ski run next weekend, let me know and you are welcome to these vouchers.

Lost gospel art kit

We have lost our gospel art picture kit.  We think we left it in the nursery across the hall from the mother's room near the relief society room a few weeks ago.  It is the whole kit in the blue box with the flap that folds over and velcroes.  If anyone has found it, you can reach us at shay(underscore)bee(at)hotmail(dot)com or our number is in the ward directory.

Thanks,
Shay T. (Volcano Cliffs)

Hello friends!

I am in need of boxes. Packing boxes. Actually they can be any kind of box, I will just call them packing boxes. No, not to store my children in when they are bad...although.... ahem. Nope. Not for that. Never for that.

We are going to be moving in a few months and I thought that I would get a little head start. Ha, who amd I kidding. It is really going to take me 2 months to get all our stuff in boxes...not including kids. Never that. Nope, never.

So if you have some boxes you are not stuffing your own children into wanting to give up, let me know. Brian would be happy to pick them up. (See how I did that...conveniently sluffed off that responsibility to him. I can teach you how to do that without any guilt. Just saying.)

stef.burns at gmail.com.  Or you can call me...if you have my number.

Sweet! Thanks!!

Ventana Ward RS Birthday Celebration!

Sisters of Ventana Ward,

Come join us TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 27th at 7:00pm for a wonderful evening.  We will be celebrating the anniversary of the Relief Society with service, friends, and treats!  Remember, e-mail your service to michechapman(at)gmail(dot)com by tonight if you know you can come.

If you decide to come at the last minute, bring your service donation with you.  Write it down on paper with your contact info and wrap it up like a present for someone else to open.  If you are having trouble deciding on what to donate, go check your e-mail for details and ideas.

We're looking forward to a really great evening where we can get to know each other better, learn to share our talents, and serve one another.  Any questions, contact Michelle C. or Chantelle D.

Sincerely,
The Ventana RS Activity Committee

Landscaping materials

We spent some time last week clearing a space for a garden, and so now we have available the following items:
  • landscape cloth--dirty, ripped in places, but several large pieces
  • rock. Like anyone here doesn't have enough. But just in case, I have a small mountain of 1" sharp-edged rock I'd be glad to get rid of before the HOA sees it and thinks I'm re-landscaping.

Moving Boxes

We've been in the ward almost 1 1/2 years now, so we're doing a little more unpacking. With luck we'll be unpacked before we move again. No guarantees, though. Anyway, we have some nice apple boxes with lids and some other miscellaneous boxes if anyone needs them.

Crib and matress for sale

My mother is getting rid of a crib she has had for my niece that she watches.  It is the newer style that does not have a drop down side, but it does convert to a toddler bed when you remove one side.  She purchased it at Babie's 'R' Us where it sells for $200, and has all of the parts and instructions.  It is 2 years old.   The mattress is a little older because it used to be mine, but it is in great shape.  I would like to sell it for $100 with the mattress.

Books and Cheese

Barbara Kingsolver inspired me and I got all the supplies to make our own mozzarella cheese at the next book club meeting. I am not promising anything but we'll see how easy it really is. Thanks to Frances C. of the Ventana Ward for offering up her home and kitchen as the location of our book club meeting this Thursday starting at 7:30 PM. We're discussing "Animal Vegetable Miracle" by Kingsolver. Come if you'd like to see how to make Mozzarella as well as discuss your own personal food and eating guidelines. This should be a VERY interesting discussion that you won't want to miss.
See you there,

I am in need of....

Next Tuesday is my daughters birthday and she has requested a princess cake. You know the one with the barbie sticking out --making the cake her dress. Anyways, if there is anyone who has:
 2 8-in pans AND
An oven safe bowl (such as pyrex)
I have 9-in pans, but I don't have an oven safe bowl. I looked today and the stores only sell the bowl in a set and I don't really want to pay $13 to use only one bowl. So if you are willing to let me borrow them, I would  be eternally grateful. email me at jennifer dot childers at gmail dot com. Thanks!

St. Patricks Day Potluck!

Where: Ventana Ranch park (NEW park by Walgreens!)

When: March 17th 5:00

Please bring: potluck dish, drinks for your family

For those that will be in town this weekend, I thought it would be fun to have a green potluck!  Bring something green or St. Patrick's themed (IE rainbow, clover-shaped) to share.  Get creative!  It doesn't have to be green!  Since I don't have much time to organize this, please e-mail me ASAP if you would like to come and what dish (or ask me what we still need) so I can make sure we have some variety and so I know how many plates/forks we need!  Thanks and hope to see you there!

Summer Art Classes For Children and Teenagers

I will be teaching art classes again this summer. First, I want to get a feel for who is interested, what your summer schedules will be like (as far as traveling), and what type of classes you are interested in. The past few summers I have taught several classes but I don't think I am going to hold as many classes again this summer. Therefore,  I want to create classes that will appeal to the majority. Hopefully I can accommodate most; unfortunately, it is impossible to accommodate everyone.

Please email me at rachaelboyle(at)gmail(dot)com or send me a message on FB

Thanks, Rachael Boyle

Food Storage on sale!

Hi ladies!  I use the Thrive company for a lot of my food storage needs and I got this email with a sale through my consultant (not available online or for the general public) and thought I would pass it along.  They freeze dry their foods with most items sporting a 25 year shelf life.  Some things like the fruits and veggies I like to let the kids snack on or add to granola or trail mixes.  These prices are good through Thursday the 8th and I will be phoning in my order on Wednesday.  If anyone would like to purchase something I would be more than willing to add it to my own order so you can enjoy the less expensive prices.  Take a look at this flier

and then you can compare to the items on their website http://www.shelfreliance.com/
