how to easily separate an egg from the white

Did you know you can easily separate an egg from it's white?  The video below (in Chinese, strangely enough) demonstrates it as such:
1) crack your egg and empty everything onto a dish
2) hold an empty plastic water bottle above it, one with a narrow neck.
3) squeeze the bottle gently (like you're crushing it) and then put the lip of the bottle over the yolk
4) release your hand's pressure on the bottle and the air pressure within the bottle will suck up ONLY the yolk.
5) squeeze the bottle over your desired drop location (another dish, the sink, etc.) and the yolk will pop back out of the bottle.  How simple and amazing is that?

This will be my new method of separating eggs.  I'm very impressed!

If you can help out, that would be great!

Hey guys!

We invented this cool children's toy and needed some suggestions on how to sell it online, get it recognized by google and on other search engines, and what needs to be done to make it look better/sound better on the website: buildeez.weebly.com.  Also, if you know of a better place to go to design a website, we would like info. on that too.
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.  If anyone has done something like this before and would like to help us out, we would really appreciate it!

Tomorrow! Food on a stick

Hey ladies!

Just a quick reminder that Recipe group is at my, Stefanie Burns, house tomorrow at noon. I have a new address but will not be posting it here...because you never know.  But you can call me 898 three two three five, and I will give you my address.

Bring your sticks of food....or at least and empty stick to fill up with yummy food. See ya tomorrow!

I have decided to become a consultant for Shelf Reliance, and I am looking for some people to host parties.  I know there have already been a few, but if there is anyone out there who wants to host one, they are super fun and informative.  Their freeze dried foods are delicious, and I have been building up my food storage and using their foods in my cooking everyday!  Check out www.shelfreliance.com, and let me know if you are interested.  I can help you order some, but if you want to host a party you will earn a good deal of free food.  I just hosted a party and earned over $100 of free food!  Plus a bunch more at 50% off.  You can't beat that deal!  I am super excited to do my first party, so please let me know if you want to be the host for me!  You can email me at carriejelmore{@}gmail{dot}com.

Modest Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway

I hate to use this as a plug to my Take It From Me review and giveaway blog, but I was given the opportunity to give away a dress from Shabby Apple.  I love Shabby Apple because their company stays true to modesty with the most gorgeous dresses which all have sleeves and are knee length or longer!  I have been so upset with companies lately who were founded on modest fashions and yet when I look through their catalogs, I see anything and everything far from modesty.  Shabby Apple is a little pricey for my every day purchases, but lucky for me, I get to give one away for FREE!

Quick and easy spiritual thoughts in the morning...

With school starting back again I thought I'd share this idea with all of you. Hope it helps your family too!

I know the school mornings are crazy, but ideally it would be great to send our kiddos off to school with a little extra gospel strength in their reserve. Since our family reads scriptures in the evening together, I like to have a spiritual thought each morning, but I never have time to plan one.

Here is an idea:

On the front and back cover of the Ensign is usually a beautiful picture and scripture or brief story or history. The Friend also has a picture or two each month and so does the New Era. It is not exact each month, but you get my point.

I tear these out and save them. When I have time, I laminate them to pretty paper and file them away in my "spiritual message" box. (Can you tell I just sat down and laminated a pile that had been staring at for me a while!) Each morning I can conveniently pull one out and use it as our spiritual message in the morning. We talk about it over breakfast.

It takes a few months to gather enough to get started, but you can always go online and print them. Just start stashing them now and you'll realize you have tons very quickly. Once you've gone through them all, go through them again and again!

I love this because:

The pictures are often not common gospel pictures we see regularly, or ever!
I love introducing them to amazing artist, like Carl Bloch, while having a spiritual message.
The stories and pictures reference scriptures, people, or church history.
Kids love pictures, sometimes these stick more than a scripture in the morning.
It is a nice way to build your own gospel library of pictures.
And they are great for FHE
...I could go on!

To add to this collection, collect your handouts from church and other activities and add them to your "spiritual message" box.

Anyway, this is just an idea that makes me excited so I thought I would share.

Recipe Group: Food on a stick

Time to start cookin' again. Okay, so maybe none of you stopped doing that...ahem.

No matter...it's time to start sharing some of your recipes again. If you have never been, come! If you have been, come! KNow someone who would like to come, great. The more the merrier.

August's theme is Food on a Stick. Anything....be creative. Cook it up, bring it and one copy of the recipe to share.

Let's do it Tuesday, Aug 21 at 12pm.

I, Stef, will host it at my new place. Not sure I want to post my address here...and it isn't listed in the ward directory. Email me (stef.burns at gmail.com) and I can send you my address, or call me 898- three two three five.

See ya there!!

Dresser for Sale

I have managed to accumulate too many dressers and am needing to sell one. It is a three drawer, natural wood color dresser with a mirror.  It is good condition and looks very nice (it would look nicer if I cleaned the mirror better).  There is a tiny blemish in the finish on the top, but it isn't even noticeable in the picture I took of it; usually I see it in certain lights.  I am asking $75 or best offer, cash only.  Please call email me if you are interested at rebeccaDOTpinonATgmailDOTcom.  I am offering it here first, but if there is no interest I will be listing it on craigslist.

Thanks, Becca

Jason's Deli bday club

ASL Classes

Yep, it's that time again. Well, at least that time is approaching.

If you don't already know, Brian and/or I have been teaching ASL classes out of our home. We do it for a few reasons. Talking to a deaf person when you don't know how to talk to a deaf person is a little intimidating. So the more people we teach, the more people Brian has to talk to. Granted, most of them are women...but I haven't heard him complain too much about that.

It also provides a time for me to chat with and make new friends. For an hour. Every week. Not bad, right?

In the past we have just done the classes during the week, during the day. Usually Thursday mornings. We are still going to be doing that. But we are also considering teaching a class on Saturday mornings if there is enough interest.

The classes are free. They are usually in our home. We are hoping to get things going again in September.

If you are interested or know of people who are interested, please let me know. My email address is stef dot burns@ gmail dot com. You can also call me 816 eight zero seven four.

Oh, I'm Stef Burns, btw.

adorable six-year-old seeking piano teacher

This is a little backwards, to ask this way, but I know there are women in the neighborhood who teach piano lessons.  I know of a few already, but I'm wondering if there are others I don't know about, so I want to investigate all our options.  My daughter, who is entering first grade, really wants to start learning how to play.  We would like a weekly, half-hour, lesson.  If you teach lessons and have openings for this fall, please e-mail me at michechapman(at)gmail(dot)com.  Please include the times you might have available and your pricing and anything else that is unique about what or how you teach.  Thanks!!!

Attention Tierra Antigua Parents!!!!

This email was sent out to all parents that are on the email list. In case you're not here it is. We really need more help with registration this week. Email me and I'll send it to the girls in charge. Thanks! Susan T. jsturner1@q (dot) com Hello Parents! If you can believe it, this week, August 9th is Meet the Teacher at Tierra Antigua! The PTA is looking for volunteers to work 1 or 2 hour shifts from 9 am to 12 noon on August 9. If you could volunteer for 1 or 2 hours that day, we could really use your help. We will need people to help in the gym checking residency, people at the PTA table and people helping with T-shirts! It is going to be a busy morning. If you are willing to volunteer that morning, please respond to this email and let me know what time you would like to work: 9-10, 10-11 or 11-12. We would ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your shift so we can show you what needs to be done. The office alone needs 42 people to volunteer in the gym so please see if you can fit an hour into your schedule. Thank you so much for helping out your school! Also, if you sign up to join the PTA at Meet the Teacher you will recieve one agenda for free, this usually costs $5. Joining the PTA is easy and a great way to get involved a little or a lot. The cost is $10 for an individual or $15 for a couple. Tierra Antigua apparel will also be sold at this event. Look for the great new designs and styles. You can pick up your sizes at Meet the Teacher or place your orders. Heather Laughlin, Cindy Timmons, Angela Croshaw Meet the Teacher Co-chairs
