DVD Cases

My family has given up on the idea of keeping our DVD's in cases. I am keeping a few empty cases for us to use when we burn our home movies to DVD, etc. but I have a TON so if anyone wants any, let me know! Angela

Great deals on produce!

Walmart Neighborhood Market had some great deals on produce today!

Corn on the cob- .10 each
Avocado- .50 each
Mango- .68 each

and it seemed like most everything else was decently priced too. Yayy!

Apples .98/lb.
grapes 1.50/lb.
strawberries 1.50/lb.
oranges .50 each
cantaloupe 1.50 each

that's all I can remember. It would definitely be worth it to go and buy a bunch of corn to freeze; there's no limit and that's the best price they get. Everything looked decent too... guess we'll have to see how they taste!!

The Divvy Up!

My friend from Logan Utah is organizing a big consignment sale for Children/Maternity clothes. The sale will be in Logan UT in July but if you want to sell items you can send them with me when I make a trip there in the next few weeks or so. Here is the information for anyone who is interested:

Many of you have heard that we are running a childrens consignment sale this year- a large garage sale of childrens items and maternity wear. This is different than your typical garage sale though, items will be clean, in good condition and organized so finding the things you want will be simple.

No more driving around looking for garage sales to find they have 3 old, worn items to sell. No more wasting your weekend sitting around trying to sell your own items. No more guessing with online buying, wondering if you are going to get what you paid for.

This is easy. Sign up on our website, thedivvyup.com to register your items to sell. Print off your tags and attatch them to your items and then drop them off. We do the selling for you and send you a check when the sale is over. If you'd like to come and shop too, we'd love to have you.

Our sale will run July 9th thru July 11th at the Cache County Fair grounds. Volunteer to help us if you'd like and be invited to come to our presale where you get the first pick of the goods.

So round up your goods- childrens clothing (sizes newborn to childrens 16), childrens funiture, shoes, maternity clothings, toys, books, video games/movies, Halloween costumes, bikes and so on. You set the price and decide if you want the item donated to a local charity at the end of the sale or not. It's just that easy.

Check out our website thedivvyup.com to learn more. Forward this to your friends and neighbors- there are consignor benefits for those who refer others.

Ready to make money and save money? We'll help you divvy up you stuff.

Shade Swim

UPDATE: I checked today, 5/29, and the bathing suits were another 25% off the marked down price. Not sure how long this will last.

All Shade Swimwear is 25% off this weekend. They have modest cute bathing suits. (The tops are very long).

World Market

All clearance items at World Market are half-off through memorial weekend. I was able to get some cute pillows for 4.84 and a really cute journal for 2.50 among other things. Great place for gifts. This sale didn't seem to be advertised in the store from what I saw, which is probably a good thing for us!!

A little reminder

I just wanted to give a little friendly reminder not to post any personal information such as addresses and phone numbers. I am also going to recommend that we use the first initial of our last names instead of posting the whole last name, ie. Kristie L. Then you would easily be able to look up the person in the ward directory. I have gone back and taken out all last names FYI. There are still some phone numbers on here, and if you have posted yours you can chose to remove those if you want. Thanks guys!! Also, thanks for all the great posts on here. This blog has been everything I wanted it to be and more!

Items needed

Michelle E. is looking for a garden hose and several CD spindle holders. These are the round containers that CD-R's or blank DVD's come in. She's just looking for the empty containers. If anyone is getting rid of these things please contact her. Thanks!

Black Skirt

Does anyone have a black skirt I can borrow for Katie's recital (size 7/8)? She can't put her black pants over her immobilizer and I can't get out of the house much to go shopping. Or has anyone seen an inexpensive, black skirt for sale - if so where? We would only need it Thursday afternoon and evening. Thanks, Stacey

swim lessons

Does anyone have experience with their kids in private swim lessons here? I was wondering how much they cost and where and when they are offered. Thanks

Albertsons Double/triple coupons!

Yayyyy- it's that time again. I already see a couple things for cheap or free. I am going to try really hard to make a list this week for any fellow couponers. Keep posted.

Old Navy Swim Sale

Old Navy has their toddler swimsuits for $8 and kids swimsuits for $10. I love their swimsuits- so cute!! Also women's one-pieces are $12.50- for some reason they don't fit me lengthwise but maybe they'll fit you!

More yard sale yada yada

If you are planning on coming to sell your stuff at the yard sale, you are welcome to drive up and unload your stuff in the cul-de-sac, but when you're through please take your car and park it on Ventana Hills or Brushfield (streets close by) so that there is room for customers to park and shop. It looks like we'll have at least 12+ families selling at the yard sale. See you then!

For free:
1. TO A CAT-LOVING FAMILY: Sally our cat Sally is a beautiful, loving calico. She's been mostly an indoor cat and would need updated shots. She's spayed and microchipped. We have a cat bed and a carpeted gym thingie that she likes to play on, along w/ her essentials.
2. Indoor decorative tree
3. Small white cube shelf
4. Tall thin bookshelf (light colored wood, somewhat worn, but still usable)
5. Charcoal barbequer

Other stuff:
1. King-size box springs - $15
2. Pine TV cabinet - $20 (Sturdy, but not super heavy duty, light colored pine)
3. Set of 2 nightstands - $30 (Dark wood w/ silver hardware, oversized, each has two large drawers, really sturdy, has a couple of cosmetic chips/dents on each)
4. Dutailier Glider Rocker w/ Rocking Ottoman - $20 (Lt. blue material)

7. portable DVD player w/ nice travel case - $20 (4.5 in. screen. Case hooks to back of car seat. Lid is broken-have to use tape to close it, otherwise works fine)
8. JVC receiver and 5 speakers - $20 (One of the inputs is blown out, but all speakers work)9. Laptop computer and case - $30 (15" Dell Inspiron 7500, 450 MHz, connector to screen needs repair in order to work as laptop, or can connect to external monitor and will work)
10. We're also selling our hot tub w/ gazebo enclosure - $400 obo, but you have to take it away, which may or may not need a small crane to get it over the wall (very nice 4 person jetted hot tub, great for ABQ winters, gazebo is a bit weather worn)

THANKS!! ~~AMBER E. ~~

Ventana Ranch Elementary School Family dance

Word did not get out as soon as it was supposed to about the VRES family dance, so I thought I would let everyone know who is not signed up for the school's Yahoo group. It will be held this Thursday, May 14th in the cafeteria (Abe will be D.J.ing) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Snacks (many of which will be gluten free and allergy friendly) and water bottles will be provided. There will also be sign ups there to participate in next years PTA board. There was a meeting two weeks ago that was poorly attended, so the PTA is giving it one last try to create a board and have a PTA next year.

Baby Monitor Wanted

I am looking for a baby monitor. Mine just died and since I won't need one for long I was wondering if anyone was done with theirs. We could trade for something or I can pay. Let me know! Susan

Need babysitter

Liz Mink's mom (I know her from Volcano Cliffs ward) ask me if there is anyone in our ward willing to watch Liz Mink twins, who will start school on August. She needs someone to watch them 45 min before school and 1 hr after school weekdays as a pay thing.

Neighborhood yard sale reminder

Don't forget about the neighborhood yard sale this Saturday from 7AM-1PM in the Country Glen cul-de-sac.

If you're going to set up a spot in my driveway, make sure you bring your own cash for change (each "vendor" will be responsible for selling their own stuff).

If you only have a few things you'd like to get rid of, I'll sell them for you and give you the cash when you collect your unsold items that afternoon. Please bring them marked with prices to my house by Friday evening with a list of your inventory and low/high prices you'd like to sell them for.

FYI here is a list of some of the cool items everyone is looking to sell:
a double jogging stroller, car seats, girls bike (age 7), 2 bathroom storage pieces, solid oak table/desk, a ladder, barstools, a glider/rocker, 2 working ceiling fans, like new blinds, double pond buckets/equipment, a motorcycle.

See you then!

Looking for Cinder Blocks

We are in the middle of putting in a garden in the backyard and are looking for a few spare cinder blocks to finish lining it and holding back all the rock out of the dirt. Do you have any I could have? I would be more than willing to barter something for them in return- dinner, cookies, jewelry, babysitting, etc....

A steal on Piano Tuning

A tuner I once had tune my piano called me today and is offering his regular $90 tuning for only $30. Yeow! That's a great deal! Here are the stipulations.

1) It must be done in May or June (and he's already booked through May 15th)
2) You need to say that Melissa S. referred you.

If you are interested, please call him ASAP- Greg Gombert 400-3045

To be fair, my favorite tuner is Jean-Luc (at 259-2368). He is extremely thorough (to the point of being almost nit-picky) and is all around a great guy. He does charge $80 or so for a tuning, so if you just want a less expensive tuning call Greg.

Bartering

I was wondering if anyone was interested in bartering skills and services since money is tight now for everyone? For example I would be interested in anyone who could help me declutter and organize my house and garage. In exchange, I could watch their kids, make meals, teach voice lessons, jewelry making, scrapbook products or tutoring etc. I know there are so many talented women in the ward and I know we could all benefit from each others' strengths. Those interested could list what they need and what they could offer in exchange.
Thanks
Jenni

Coupon Enrichment Activity

I am going to be doing a class on couponing/budgeting this Thursday at Lorilynn B's home at 7:00. It will be fun, and even if you don't care about coupons or whatever, it's a good excuse for a GNO! (girl's night out)
