Dance Lessons?

Katie is 3 1/2, and I know that she would love some sort of dance lesson. I'm thinking ballet, since she's in love with the idea of ballerinas. I'm not wild about the idea of spending $100 plus for recitals, so something on the cheaper, less-intense side would be nice. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Help Needed

Wendy Ryan, is looking to expand her embroidery and apparel printing business here in Albuquerque. She has owned her embroidery business for the past nine years but since the move from California she hasn't done much business locally!

We are looking to make some samples for advertising purposes, and don't want to see the product go to waste since each item is custom embroirded with names. We are offering to anyone interested to create a custom hooded bath towel at cost. With the understanding that we will take some product pictures of the just the towels prior to delivery. These make great baby gifts or are perfect for your own little ones!!!!

The wholesale cost is $15.

We would like to make samples for both boys and girls.

Here is what we are looking for (each would also include name):

Dinosaur
Train
Saliboat
Sports
Princess Crown
Ladybugs with daisies
Princess with floral
Surf boards with hibiscus flowers (2, a boy and a girl)
Dolphin

Please call or email Wendy if you are interested! Thanks so much!
Phone: 505-899-4584 email: bayemb@gmail.com

GOSPEL ART BOOKS

To Anyone Who Ordered a Gospel Art Book:

They are in! I just got them yesterday. So... I'm thinking that people could either swing by my house (by the park in Ventana West) to pick theirs up, or I will also bring them to park day on Tuesday. (They were $1.50 each). If that doesn't work for you, let me know and we can figure something else out. Thanks! Shelley

Exer-saucer

Just wondering if anyone out there has an exer-saucer that they are not using that they would be willing to let me borrow. Janey is at that age where I think she would love one, but I don't want to buy one because they are so big and then I have to move it. I would only need it for two months. Let me know!! Honey

Yard sale changes

Hey fellow friends,
I got enough people interested that the yard sale is a definite now. However, there are some changes.

1) The date is now on Saturday May 16th from 7AM-1 PM (the Father & Son's Campout is on the 9th)

2) If you just have a few items you'd like to sell, bring them to my house up until the night before with an inventory sheet of what you're bringing with a low and high price on it. Also, please put a price sticker on the item. I'll sell them for you and give you the money when you come back for any unsold items.
3) If you want to set up a table on my driveway (or around the cul-de-sac) and sell directly yourself, please arrive by 6:45 AM that morning and set yourself up. Space is available on a first come first served basis (I do have a very long driveway, though).
4) If you have any unusual or unique or big things you're bringing to sell (i.e. a ladder, furniture, yard equiptment, etc), email me and I will highlight that in my advertising on craigslist and in the paper.
I'm looking forward to this!
Melissa

Wheat Grass

I came across this tutorial on growing wheat grass! I'm excited to have a new way to use my wheat, and it's so healthy. I have been growing some for about a week now and it looks awesome- can't wait to try it in a smoothie!

Daughters of God

While doing a little de-junking the other day I came across a couple of quotes that really inspired me through my high school and college years. Maybe they will inspire you too!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. [Nelson Mandela, 1994 Inauguration Address]

"I would charge you to say again and again to yourselves,...'I am a daughter of God' and by so doing begin today to live closer to those ideals which will make your life happier and more fruitful because of an awakened realization of who you are..." [Harold B. Lee]

Multi-Family Garage Sale?

We've been doing the spring cleaning thing and have several items that we'd like to get rid of. We don't have enough stuff on our own to merit a garage sale by ourselves, though. SO....
I'm looking for some more families to join ours in a "Multi-family" Garage sale. I'll do the work of advertising the sale as well as offer my yard for the event. We live in a cul-de-sac and I'll ask the neighbors if they'd like to set out some stuff that day as well (the idea is to attract a lot of people....)

Here's how I envision it will work.
We'll have the sale (weather permitting) on Saturday May 9th from 7AM-1PM. You can do it one of two ways.

1) You bring your stuff to my house on Saturday May 9th by 6:30 AM and set up a table on our driveway and man a "booth" yourself

OR

2) If you don't have a lot of stuff and are willing to make an inventory sheet of what you're selling and what prices you're asking, you can bring the stuff to my house a few days before and I'll sell it for you. You just come back later that day sometime to collect your cash and/or unsold items.

Interested in joining us? Please email me call me. I'm willing to do this if I can get at least 3 other people to bring their stuff here.

Using Google Reader

I know that there are a lot of people who enjoy reading blogs, but it's just so much work to keep on top of all of them. If this is you, then Google Reader is your new best friend. All you need to have is a Google account. If you have Gmail or a Blogger account, then you have a Google account. If not, sign up for one HERE.

For those of you with gmail, it's really easy to access Google Reader. When you're signed into your gmail inbox, you'll see a link for "Reader" in the top left corner of your page. It looks like this:

If you don't have a Gmail account, find Google Reader HERE.

If you're not already signed in, you'll be taken to a page that looks like the following:

Once you've signed in, you'll be taken the the main Google Reader page. In the top left corner, you'll see a button that says to add a subscription. This is where you paste the address for the RSS feed of the blog you wish to follow

The easiest way to add a blog is to simply enter the blog address. For example, if you wished to add the Help A Sister Out blog to your reader:

You can also find the RSS feed of a blog by looking for this logo:

Here's the RSS feed of a financial blog I subscribe to:

Once you've added the blogs you follow, you can organize them into folders by going to Manage Subscriptions in the bottom left corner:

Let me know if you have any questions about using google reader or if there are some steps I missed out!

Great deal on chicken!

I was at Smith's today, and their boneless skinless chicken breasts were on a manager's special of 1.19/ lb. From my experience this is an amazing price for fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts. I'm not sure if this has been going on since last Wed. or not since I've been out of town, so it may just be on special until tonight... But I think it would be worth the trip down there!

Albertson's Double Coupons!

Okay, so I just got back in town yesterday, and was so excited to see that Albertsons is doubling coupons again! Well, it actually means that any coupon under a dollar will now be worth a dollar, and dollar coupons are still worth a dollar. So those coupons that have really low value can get you really cheap stuff. (Since these coupons are usually for low-ticket items anyways.) After I go this week, I will post in the comment section the coupons that I used for free or cheap stuff.

Stuffed Animals

Do your kids have too many stuffed animals? There is a group of students at Cibola High School that are participating in a service group titled Operation Smile. They go to Africa and provide stuffed animals and comfort to children who have had Cleft Pallet surgery. The surgeons who perform the surgeries also donate their services for children who are poverty stricken. They need like-new stuffed animals. I would like to collect them by Monday, April 13th.
