Hi I bought a shirt from the Children's Place and they didn't take off the tan magnetic thingy. Is there a way to remove it or do I have to go back to the mall to have them take it off? Thanks.
I think if you remove it yourself, some of them have an ink inside that will ruin the clothing. It's a way to detere theft. You could call and ask them. Maybe they'll give you a discount for your next purchase! I didn't realize that The Children's Place had those. I guess I always buy from Clearance and they may not have them there.
There is a way to remove those, but you run the risk of ruining the shirt. If there is no ink then you can take some rubberbands (the kind that you get from your newspaper) and wrap in between the sensor and the clothing keep wrapping it until the pin comes out. It is slowly moving the notched out of the sensor, this is why it does not always create a hole. But no promises. The safest way is to take it back to them.
And in case you are wondering how I could optain such information, I have worked in retail for a long time. A DM showed this to us so that we would know how the shoplifted did it!

I've always just taken it back to the store. What a pain!
