Sandia Skiing is Open

Sandia Peak Ski Area
The Sandia Peak ski area is a short 45 minute drive from the Albuquerque area, and offers the scenic views found at its 8,610' base elevation (10,378' at top of chair #1). Sandia Peak has something for beginners as well as advanced skiers and snowboarders. There is a certified snow sports school, a rental shop, a cafe and a ski shop. The Scrapyard Terrain Park features beginner to intermediate rails, funboxes and jumps.

The Sandia Peak Ski Area is open for the 2010 - 2011 season. All lifts are in operation, with a solid base of snow..

Days: December 18, 2010 - March (end date TBD), 2011, Wednesdays - Sundays and holidays

Rates:
Rates are for all lifts.

  • Adults: $50 all day/all lifts, $35 half days
  • Teens (13-20): $40 all day, $30 half days.
  • Children (6-12) $40 all day, $30 half days.
  • Seniors (62-71) $40 all day, $30 half days.

    Peak Plus card discounts apply. With a Peak Plus pass, adult tickets are $25/day and the teen/child/senior rate is $15/day.

    Chairlifts #1, #2, #3 and #4 have trails for skiers and boarders.
    Chairlift #4 provides access to the groomed beginner hill.

    Peak Plus Challenge Program
    Take lessons to learn how to ski or board, or to advance your skill level. The three day program begins Saturday, January 9 and continues on Saturday, January 16 and Saturday, January 23. The three day package is good for all learners, from novice through advanced.
    Lessons for the three full days: $100
    Lessons and equipment rental for skiers: $100
    Lessons and equipment rental for boarders: $150
    Lessons do not include lift tickets.
