April Fools Pranks for Kids

I was searching the Family Fun website for something and came across these fun April Fools Day pranks that can be used on kids. Call me a mean Mom if you have too, but this first one, the "Chore Camp Brochure" cracked me up so much I had tears in my eyes. I am sooooooo going to try and pull this one off on my older boys. I printed it on glossy photo paper to make it look even more realistic. I can already see their faces when I tell them I signed them up for this summer camp.

The "Dolphin Adoption" certificate is a little too mean for me. My kids would flip their lids if they thought we adopted a dophin. I could see them believing it, but I'm not THAT mean! It is funny though!

Panda Express Coupons

I have about a gazillion coupons for Panda Express. The coupons are good for a free kids meal when you buy any 2-entree plate. The coupons expire on March 31st (Thursday). My husband and I use these coupons all the time for just me and him to eat, the kids meal is the perfect size for me and the 2-entree works for the hubs. This may be a long shot, I'll give it a try anyway. DOes anyone have Lowe's coupon's that they do not plan to use. New car seat guidelines

The American Academy of Pediatrics has published new guidelines regarding car seats. It is now said that a child should remain rear facing until they reach age 2 and/or meet the manufacturer's maximum limits.

Book Club- LOCATION CHANGE

Quiet Book Clarification & an Amazing Website with Free Printables

Is anyone sick of seeing me blog about the Quiet Books yet? Sheesh, sorry guys! I wanted to clarify about the quiet book link I shared. They were actually created by an AMAZINGLY talented girl named Heather at SimplyFreshDesigns.com  This girl FOR SURE deserves the credit...how amazing is it that she creates these beautiful little books and shares them for free with the world???? I should have been better at giving her credit directly when I first posted the links. Sorry :( She has got some serious talent and a huge heart for sharing this stuff!!!!  Her website has quite a few free printables that everyone here will probably love. Happy printing!

Zumba

I am back in town and Zumba is back on. See you guys Wednesday @ 8:45am and Thursday @ 6:30pm!

I'm cleaning out closets.

I have several pairs of boy shoes that are in great - nearly perfect - condition if you want them. They range from newborn to about size 6.

Also, I have several pairs of nice women's slacks and pants that range from size 8 -12. They are Limited, Talbots, and whatever else but some still have their tags on them (my mom gave them to me to give to someone who could use them.

Anyway, let me know if you want them. I want to clear out this stuff super soon! So call me before I make a trip to Good Will.

Poop

My favorite place to shop these days is freecycle.org . It's awesome--everything is free! But, you can never be entirely sure what you're getting. Well, a couple weeks ago I answered an ad for manure, thinking it would be mixed with bedding material and it would be great to use in putting in some landscaping in my rocky yard. Well, girls, this is the pure stuff. I have 7 bags of poop-balls from miniature horses. I may use one. Possibly 2 if I'm really industrious. And I sure don't want it to go to waste. If anyone would like some for their garden or compost, let me know. I'm in the directory or you can email me at debbie at thewagers dot org.

Book Club

Melissa has asked that I do a poll for book club too.  Keep in mind that once we meet sisters from VC ward, we might want to invite them as well.  Otherwise, Melissa might set up a new book club for VC sisters, and keep the current book club for Ventana sisters.  So if you wouldn't mind, let us know what you think about that too!  Thanks!!

Since the ward changed, I have had many people ask me what I'm going to do about the blog.  All of the ladies I talked to thought we should still keep it the way it is, but I thought I would see what you all think.  Would you mind taking the poll on the sidebar?  It will be up for 1 week and is ANONYMOUS, so if everyone could take it that would be great!  Also if you have comments or suggestions please comment below!  Thanks.

A Very Happy Relief Society Birthday

Dear Sisters,
Last night was amazing.  You all showed how new geographic boundaries are not a definition of our sisterhood or our friendships.  A huge thank you to each and every person who contributed in some way, from table decorations, to cupcakes, to helping set up/clean up, to volunteering to help with the program, to just attending and sharing yourself with others (which, is the most important part.)  The tables and cupcakes were quite incredible, actually.  We wanted to share them with everyone, especially if you weren't able to make it.  Here they are for your viewing pleasure and reflection.  All photos by Shannon P:

Here is some information for all of you who will have kindergarten children at Ventana Ranch Elementary School next year:

Parents and Guardians:

Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm we will be holding new student registration for all incoming Kindgertartners. Please make sure you bring shot records, original birth certificate, and 2 proofs of address to include ONLY a CURRENT PNM or NM Gas bill and a Purchase or Lease agreement. Students must meet the age requirement for APS; 5 years old by September 1^st. If you know of any families to whom this applies, please help us spread the word to family and friends. 2011-2012 Preschool

I wanted to let you know, in case anyone is interested, that I still have a few spots left open for my 3 year old class and 4 year old class next school year. (I am an academic preschool {ie: not a play school, joy school or day care}.)

Looking for Twin Bed

Hi Ladies,

We are looking to purchase a twin bed or bunk bed.  It needs to be for a boy or unisex.   Also interested in the bdrm set if you have it (as in dresser, ect.).  This is not a search for a FREE bed, we are willing to pay!  We just need something that will get us through the next few years and we don't want to spend a lot.   So if you have a twin mattress, bed, bunk, or bedroom set you want to get rid of let me know and we will take a look!

Health Insurance

In a few weeks we will no longer be on a group plan for health insurance. I've been shopping around for individual coverage and was shocked to find out that individual plans here in New Mexico offer no maternity coverage. That means if we want to have another baby we'd be responsible for paying out of pocket the $25,000 + in medical bills.....yikes! Does anyone know of an individual health plan (not offered through an employer) that offers maternity coverage or a supplemental insurance that can help with these costs? I posted this awhile ago about free printable Church Quiet Books. I downloaded everything and then uploaded them to an album on Costco.com If you would rather not have to do the leg work, leave a comment with your email address or email me at kesler999{at}msn{dot}com and I can share the album link that I created with you. Then you'll only have to place the order online and pick them up at Costco. I think it was $10.53 for 75 prints (I didn't order the 8x10 A of F's) and I have a coupon for 50 free prints to make that total even cheaper...Woohoo! Now, if I can only find the motivation to get them laminated!
