Smocking, Anyone?

My grandmother and mother are excellent smockers. I have wanted to learn for a long time. My grandmother bought me a book and gave me her pleater, but I need a teacher. Both my grams and mother live in California, and I don't go there often enough to get lessons. I am having trouble finding someone who smocks.
